Meet the FPC Staff

Director of Music Ministries
David Sherman

David and his wife Sandra have been married for nine years and have three wonderful children. Madison is four years old and has a huge passion for animals.  She often says when she grows up she wants to be a veterinarian. Joshua is two years old and loves trains and cars like any typical boy, however he also loves to clean which they hope will last into his teenage years.  Elsa is six months old and is still developing her interests, but has a smile that will lighten up anyone’s day.

They also have a delightful golden retriever, Casey, and will, more likely than not, add to their pet collection as the years go on.

David has lead music in ministry for the past 12 years.  In addition to his service as a church music minister, he has also been on the staff of the Dale Warland Singers, a professional and internationally known choir based out of the Twin Cities. Through this position, he has had the pleasure of working and learning from many of the top conductors in the world including Hugh Wolf, Eiji Oue, Helmuth Rilling, Roberto Abbado, Bobbie McFeren, Robert Shaw, and many others. David has also served in the roll of Associate Conductor of the Voices of Omaha whose annual free performances of Handels’ Messiah has drawn and delighted thousands each year.
David has outreached his ministry internationally by leading a choir mission trip throughout Germany and Austria which resulted in a strong relationship with the StiftKirche in Öhringen, Germany. In December of 2005 he was invited to collaborate with the StiftKirche at their Advent Festival presentation of Vavaldi’s Gloria and other extended works.
In personal outreach, David joined a group of Americans and Germans in 2004 who traveled to Cameroon, Africa and had the pleasure of meeting with church leaders and musicians there.      David and Sandra enjoy spending time with their fam
ily in the great outdoors. David is an avid outdoorsman who enjoys, boating, hunting, fishing and just being in nature. Sandra enjoys nature as well, but also loves doing crafts, knitting, sewing and working with children
