Sacraments
Baptism and Communion are the two sacraments recognized by the Presbyterian Church
USA. PC(USA) Presbyterians and other Protestants recognize sacraments as God's
gracious gifts given to us by Jesus Christ to establish and nurture our faith. The sacraments
are symbolic acts, or "visible signs of God's invisible grace" that are available to all people
who profess a belief in Jesus Christ as Lord through the church community.

Baptism
We baptize because Jesus Christ commanded His disciples "go and baptize" in name of
the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. In baptism we are named and claimed by God,
and we acknowledge that we have been adopted into God's family.
Communion
The Lord's Supper is the sign and seal of eating and drinking in communion with the
crucified and risen Lord. During His earthly ministry, Jesus shared meals with His
followers as a sign of community and acceptance. The Lord's supper is celebrated during
worship on the first Sunday of each month and on other occasions as authorized by the
session.
